Solar Collector

Specialty Solar Glass
AFG is the industry leader in solar glass development. With low-iron properties, AFG Solar Glass is suitable for photovoltaics, commercial greenhouse glazing, and active or passive solar applications. This rolled glass product is available in two distinct patterns:

Solite™ Glass
Formed with a stippled pattern on one surface, this product provides desired obscurity while retaining its high transmission values. Solite is the recommended product for most active applications where obscurity of the absorber plate in active solar panels is an important factor.

Solatex™ Glass
Formed with smooth rolls, Solatex is a light diffusing glass providing slightly higher transmission values at acute angles of incidence. Solatex is reccomended where the ultimate in transmission is desired. It has been used effectively in flat plate solar collectors, photovoltaics, and commercial greenhouse glazing where light diffusion and light transmission are necessary for good plant growth.

Clear Glass: Available in Boxes (50 sq. ft. per box) or 2,000 and 4,000 lb. pallets.
Reflection Control^Ž, "non glare" glass, single side etched for clarity.
Conservation Clear^Ž, with UV filters to block some harmful light rays.
Conservation Reflection Control^Ž, also "non glare" with UV filters to block some harmful light rays.
AR Reflection Free, anti-reflective glass, coated edge to edge.
Museum Glass^Ž, anti reflective, high performance glass with UV reduction.

All of our framing glass is can be cut with conventional methods. They require no special handling or cleaning and are usable edge to edge.
